Rambutan – Parallel Systems

Posted in News, Recommendations, Sounds with tags , on April 10, 2021 by andreasbrandal

Along with 68 other artists I have contributed sounds to the upcoming Rambutan album “Parallel Systems”.

From the artist:

Rambutan – Parallel Systems

Limited edition 2CD set (154 minutes) in full color, plastic-free gatefold 6-panel eco-sleeve. Forthcoming co-release on SEDIMENTAL RECORDS and TAPE DRIFT RECORDS. Parallel Systems is a collection of 33 audio collages created with original contributions from 69 artists from 9 countries including members of Fugazi, Minutemen, Mission of Burma, Trumans Water, Sebadoh, Olivia Tremor Control, Reynols, Wolf Eyes, and a host of contemporary sound explorers. All of the contributions were then used as source material for a series of collages (“systems”) conceptualized, constructed, mixed and composed by Rambutan (Eric Hardiman).

“Subterranean Nerve Endings” out now!

Posted in News, Sounds with tags on January 16, 2021 by andreasbrandal

My new album “Subterranean Nerve Endings” out now on Noir Age.

The label says:

“The creation of a sound world where the day’s troubles become buried in a rich, dark soil and passed over by one million anonymous insects. A world of despair activating a languid liquid, resulting in a muddy but joyous metamorphosis. Its creator, Andreas Brandal of Bergen Norway, the demiurgic force behind this human guise. Musically active since the late 90’s, Brandal’s body of work stretches vast, with “Subterranean Nerve Endings” being his most recent and first release with Noir Age.Deconstructed, insectoid rhythms pave the path for partially submerged vocal studies, staggering along the winding dance of reality. An intricate sound web reminiscent of Matmos’ textural insanity, with the slow-motion ethereal drama of later period Coil.Keep digging and you will find where the nerves end.”

You’ll find it HERE.

Four way split on Shack in the Barley Productions

Posted in News, Soundcloud, Sounds on January 7, 2021 by andreasbrandal

I participate on a four way split on UK label Shack in the Barley Productions. The other artists are Grey Dungeon Groaner, Cousins of Reggae and Tabitha & Lulu.

The label says:

“…kicking off this stellar line-up we have Norway’s own Andreas Brandal, coming at you with a suite of glitching, twitching, crunching, grinding, sizzling, droning avant-garde mastery…hot on the heels are two slabs of dark age dirgery from Grey Dungeon Groaner…you won’t find any of that cosy, fluffy crap or wannabe LotR soundtrack boredom that passes as ‘Dungeon Synth’ these days here- no, these old school gems will have you rattling yer chains and chewing on a rotten rat carcass in no time! In complete contrast, the B-side sees Canada’s finest, the Cousins of Reggae blast holes in your poor, suffering sub-woofer with their unique brand of weirdly catchy psychedelic sludge rockin’, after which it’s up to Tabitha & Lulu to bring the curtain crashing down with 20 splendid minutes of cacophonous murk…helium voices babble, sun-dazed harmonicas wheeze, filthy feedback scorches and crud-caked drum machines go positively batshit- all for you, squire!
Red C90 cassette in a clear case with full colour artwork and tape labels, plus two inserts.”
